Watch or it will fade away

 

India is not a new market for the fine watch industry. Brands like Cartier, Patek Philippe and Harry Winston have had their roots in designing special pieces for Indian Maharajas.

Recent year records indicate that the Mobile showrooms have more fan following than the ones selling watches. Is it because we have lost interest in keep up the time or wearing the watch itself. In fact mobile phones are now viewed as an add-on investment by the average customers and the watch is an “expense”!!! The watch seems to have taken the second priority when it is considered for keeping track of time. Why has the trend changed ??

I remember wearing a watch 2000 bucks when I was in 8th standard. This was a gift from my dad for getting good marks in exams. I used to wear it to school only on special occasions. I stole a few glances from both students as well as teachers.. Wearing a watch worth 2000 bucks was a huge “status” symbol those days but now apparently every watch costs about 2000 bucks.. Array!! you get mobile phones for 2000 bucks.. why waste that money on a dumb watch.

Slowly the habit of wearing a watch has declined among the younger generation and many IT professionals. They have quit wearing a watch. Reason: time consciousness is a part of life and is moving into approximation like “TENISH” or “ Give me a call to confirm.” Unlike the concept of “Sharp Ten” of yester years and primarily the PDAs , mobiles and laptops display time as well as have more than needed features of the good old watch, such as FM, Reminders, Notes, Calculator, Directory and Games. In the recent times, many feel the watch as an inconvenience or a burden. Why duplicate facilities when the mobile phones(the habitual companion) can do the same job? Wearing a watch was necessity before the advent of mobile phones, now the watch segment has become a gift ” not used” or a gift “for the heck of it” if not based on esteem needs. Well now it looks like the mobile phones are satisfying all needs of Maslow!!!

PS: why did I write about watches?? because I saw about 50% of my class mates where not wearing a watch today even to exams and was irritating the invigilator as well as the other students writing the exam by asking for time, since Mobile phones are not allowed inside the exam hall..

Hurray... I'm done with exams!!! :)

At last finally, my exams are over for this trimester. I have one week which I'm planning to dedicate my time for myself and myself only. Since this MBA started, I've had no time for myself. I thought spending time with my friends means having time for myself. Lately, I've realised that life isn't all about having people around you. I love to spend my time on my personal space," MY BLOG", i want to read and write more. Learn a lot more things and at the same time, have some fun.  Well here I am, with a whole week just for me and my family.

Birthday Bashes... During exams Times AAARGH!!!

My Sweet and naughtiest cousin POOJA celebrated her 5th birthday yesterday(29/07/09) which, of course I missed due to exams. I miss that sweetie pie. I called up in the morning before going to exams and wished her. Then made sure Murugesh wished her after exams which she asked for. Don't ask me who Murugesh is: He is my classmate from IIPM who is Pooja's pet.

Anyways.. So today, I have two of my classmates celebrating birthdays. That would be Nishanth and Pradap. Both of them are personally good friends of mine, but since its exams we are unable to celebrate their birthday.

Then last but never the least, Saddam,(now only close friend who cares a lot about me), is celebrating his birthday on the Sunday(2.8.09). I want to celebrate his birthday too.. Since its the final year for all of us and we would be leaving in another 6 months of college, I feel so sad about us not being together even on our special days.. Anyways I hope that atleast we could re-unite in celebrating each other's birthday..

PS: My dad turns 50 this month... Half Century... Yippee....And I wish all these people Happy Birthday and Wishing you happiness all the way.. Have fun. Take care..

What comes and goes... I still have to live

Whatever happens, I'm keep telling myself that life has to go on, no matter what. Eventhough, it makes me sick, I still need to survive. Getting back to my old self will take a long time again but I have my exams coming for which I've got to put my mind and soul to work on it. I know that Life can never be the same as it was. This is what I always get. My life is like that. But I've learned to survive. Like my profile says that I still have a life to live. I read this latest post from Angie's blog about writing a letter to your future me. Well I've written one for myself.

Thanks Angie. It has given me the strength to go on again. It made me realise that life is worth living and talking about it later. I've written the letter so joyously that it would make me read it after 2 years and make me that I should write more letters like this. So that one day, I wish I could feel happy about myself or sad about things which I have missed. My life is not perfect. Nobody's is. So why crib about what has happened in the past and when I can try to make my present worth living. I've dediced that life can change and change is permanent. It has its own ups and downs. Things, which I most importantly mentioned in the letter is to get back what I lost... my love, my true friends, my sisters, and most of all, MYSELF. This future letter thing has given me the courage to achieve certain limits and heights which I have aimed for. I don't want to disappoint myself  that after two years thinking that I haven't lived worth while. Many thanks to Angie.. You rock girl!!


SO at last what I was trying to say is that I won't be writing any posts till my exams get over and which will happen on the 6th of august. And most importantly after exams, I'l be myself again.. Exams over and I'm back.....

I'm back with a bang... Exams over now what?? Holidays??? No I don't think so..Internship.

Ouch!! Does it hurt to work? Nay, I don't think so. It  hurts to study may be.

Well I'm also back on blogging trying to put up lot of thing about the world around.
